was born in Bulgaria in 1970. At the age of sixteen he began his music
studies in Sofia with Dimiter Deutschinov and in 1991 he entered the
Conservertoire National de Musique in Evreux, France, under the direction
of Arnaud Dumond. In 1992, after receiving a gold medal for his diploma
"Superieur", he was admitted to the Conservertoire National Superieur
de Musique in Paris, where he studied with Alexandre Lagoya and Olivier
Chassain. As a composer and performer A. Ourkouzounov participated in
festivals in Bulgaria, France, Holland and Spain.

In this composition the composer presents strange sounds on both instruments.
"...The many 'special effects' including slapping the strings, pizzi-cato,
glissandi, indistinct note production, etc all add to the tension of
this extraordinary piece.
For high-standard duos of this instrumentation wanting something in
a 'modern' vein for their repertoire this is well worth a look at. The
presentation is very good with seperate, bound parts for each player."
