Mr. Rodríguez-Ortiz studied with renowned musicians such as Alberto Ponce, Yoshihisa Taira, Nicholas Goluses, Eladio Scharrón, Ernesto Cordero and Juan Sorroche, to mention a few. He also participated in master classes with great artists such as Malcolm Bilson, William Kanneingeiser and Miguel Angel Girollet. He received a Composition Diploma from the Ecole Normale de Paris -Alfred Cortot, a Masters degree in Music Literature and Performance in Guitar from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music in the University of Puerto Rico. From 1998, he served for two years as a guitar, composition and music theory instructor in the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico.
