Nocturnal
Scenery , The King's Anxieties (git. solo) 5 pages - ca.
7.15 min
The piece "Nocturnal Scenery" is like a set of pictures. It starts with
bells. Night shadows fill the beginning of the piece. Fantastic dreams
make up the middle part, and when the first bird sings, a new day begins
with a beautiful morning song. Then again: bells in the room, somewhere
far away...
The second piece "The King's Anxieties" contains more tension and inner
dramatic nature. It is about the tragedy of having and abusing power.
The introduction describes the guard of the king, and a court ball is
a first part of the piece. During the night (the middle part of the
piece), the king is plagued by feelings of guilt. The bells herald the
dawn - a new day is coming, with the same sorrows, same troubles, and
anxieties
