Born in 1951, in Urmston, Manchester, Chris,
who began playing guitar at 11, has always composed music, but reverted
solely to writing and arranging for classical guitar in the early 1980s
. To date he has a long list of over thirty works composed either for
solo guitar or in combination with other instruments.
He reviews for the Classical Guitar magazine, plays in an acoustic instrumental
cross over group of over 10 years standing called 'Acoustic Moods' for
which he is the prime composer and arranger, and is in considerable
demand to write down works from recorded sources which are not otherwise
available. His other musical activities include a large batch of teaching
the guitar and playing classical guitar at various functions including
private parties, wedding receptions. Having an ability to make up arrangements
on the spot of pieces that people request at such functions, he has
amassed more than an hour of his own arrangements of popular material
requested by people over a number of years, and brought out a professionally
recorded CD of them ,called 'Making Arrangements'. Moreover, 10 of them
were published by Lathkill with a second book in the pipeline. Lathkill
also print a number of his original works as do Les Productions D'Oz
Berben and Daminus.
